One day, while I was surfing the internet, I stumbled upon this poem called Lost Generation by Jonathan Reed. It’s very negative and pessimistic at first, but it has a very interesting twist at the end. It is based on the Argentinian Political Advertisement “The Truth” by RECREAR. I was inspired by this poem so I tried to make one of my own for my dearest friends :)

You are the worst friend I’ve ever had

Because I refuse to believe that

You are important to me

And I genuinely think that

I’m not gonna be extremely sad if we ever part ways

And I would be a hypocrite if I say that

I love how we laugh about the silliest things.

It would really be easy to replace you

And I would be lying if I tell you that

I love to spend time with you

I’ve always wanted to tell you that

I’m not lucky to have you

And I absolutely don’t think that

You are one of my bestest friends

But I have something to tell you…

All these will become lies if you read it UPSIDE DOWN.

”We know the impact of God’s love. But the volume? No person has ever measured it.”

                                                                                                                              – Max Lucado

John 3:16 - a very common bible verse. Even kids have mastered this verse. But sometimes when things become so common to us, we tend to take it for granted. Like this verse. Like God’s love for us. Sure, we can recite John 3:16 effortlessly. But do we fully understand the meaning of it? Do we have an idea how big that sacrifice that God did for us is?

I hope this video will touch your hearts like it touched mine.

Everything starts with a simple step…

The only time I ever saw Him run
Was when He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise… when God ran

“38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

                                                                                         - Romans 8:38-39

God loves you. The moment you let Him enter into your life, there is no taking back. You can’t “divorce” Him. You can’t make Him forget you. God is madly and deeply in love with you that you can’t make him stop loving you.

“I know I look a little crazy
Standing
Hanging with my arms stretched all apart.”

                                                        – I Love You This Big by Scotty McCreery

That cross became the bridge so that we can come to Him. There is no more gap between you and God. No more sin, just forgiveness. God loves you! And there’s nothing, not even death, or demons, or your sins, or anything else in all creation, that will be able to separate  us from God’s love.

So if you think that God has stopped loving you because you stopped going to church, you stopped reading the Bible, you stopped praying, and you somehow stopped believing in Him, you’re wrong! (Romans 8:32) “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all.”  How can He ever stop loving us?

Nothing is too big for a big God.

I never thought I’d find a place as exuberant as this one. And yes, you’re reading it right. This eye-popping and jaw-dropping scenery was taken in the Philippines! How can a place like this exist in our country?! Well, my friend, don’t underestimate our Inang Bayan. Didn’t you know that when God showered beauty and splendor, she was there with arms wide open? She was ready to catch as much beauty as she can, and she did! Philippines is one of the richest countries in the world….not in money matters but in God-given riches.

Out of the 3500 species of plants and animals in the world, 1196 can be found in our Motherland. That’s not all! 46% of those species are endemic (only in the Philippines).

Sadly, all these wonders may not exist any longer. Between 1990 and 2005, Philippines lost one-third of its forest cover. In 2001, less than 8% of the country was covered by original tropical rainforest! Less than 100 years ago, this was still 70%!

If you’re asking me, the illegal loggers are the ones responsible for much of this. The government has taken enough steps to stop them. They have imposed laws prohibiting the unrestrained cutting of trees. But we just don’t have discipline, don’t we?

Surely, you were astonished when you saw the beautiful picture of Loboc River. At first, you may not have believed that it was taken from a place in our country. I was surprised too!

Philippine rainforests may not be as glamorous as the rainforests in Central and South America. It may not be a part of the Seven Wonders of the World. But surely, this kind of beautiful treasure is worth saving for.As the line goes, “Divided we fall, united we stand,” we can do something! We can still rescue our beautiful and rich forests from depletion. If we could just stop acting like two year-olds. If we could just stop thinking only of ourselves, then maybe we can actually make a difference.

This is my plea. Rich or poor, you can help save our rainforests. Come on! Can you afford to lose such beauty and splendor that can only be found in our Motherland?

It’s up to you, my friend. Will you cease this wonderful work of art from existing or will you preserve it for the whole world to see?
